" This year’s conference focused on Meaningful Use Stage 2, Care Coordination, and Patient Engagement "

Nucon 2012 Highlights

Designing and implementing EHR and integrated Practice Management System that get connected with disparate information systems including that of hospitals, other physicians’ offices, and nursing homes for referrals, care coordination, and provide capabilities for analytics and patient engagement would only qualify for Meaningful Stage 2 and beyond” said Udayan Mandavia, President/CEO, iPatientCare, Inc. in his Keynote Address at iPatientCare National User Conference 2012.

Keynote Address

This year’s keynote delivered by Udayan Mandavia, President/CEO and Kedar Mehta, CTO, iPatientCare, Inc. was stunning, an eye-opener, and reflective of the strategic vision and innovations/excellence in software engineering within clinical and financial information systems for ambulatory care.

“Meaningful Use, in the context of IHI’s Triple Aim Initiative, is using certified EHR technology to improve quality, safety, efficiency, and reduce health disparities by way of (a) engaging patients and families in their healthcare (b) improving care coordination, and (c) improving population and public health while maintaining privacy and security.” said Udayan K. Mandavia, Presidnet/CEO, iPatientCare, Inc. as part of his high powered Keynote Address. Further, continuing his motivational address in the midst of applause and cheers from the excited attendees, Mr. Mandavia unveiled the futuristically architected iPatientCare R13.

Mr. Mandavia concluded his address by assuring the cheerful and loyal crowd that iPatientCare would continue to move ahead and will remain a force to reckon with because of its commitment be a company with zero-debt and privately-held to serve the only purpose of designing innovative products, offering excellent customer service, and continuously adding value to the existing customer relationships by way of offering EHR and integrated practice management within Ambulatory and Acute care settings, portals for care coordination and referral management, mHealth tools based on iOS, Android, and Windows 8, and complete Revenue Cycle Management services that include iPatientCare technology for free.

US Healthcare reforms seem to be at the center stage of our Nation’s reforms agenda. iPatientCare believes in staying focused on innovations in healthcare technology solutions that incorporate ever changing and constantly evolving legislative mandates, administrative simplifications, Accountable Care, Meaningful Use, Patient Centric Medical Home, Clinical Vocabularies, Security and Usability initiatives, and many such topics of national interest that touch and potentially shape tomorrow’s ambulatory care. Physicians, Office Managers, IT Managers, and all others within the physicians’ offices who contribute to typical workflow, such as -registration/discharge, appointment scheduling, checking eligibility of patients, interacting with managed care organizations, coordinating labs and prescriptions/refills, patient correspondence & communications, billing & accounts receivable, and clinical decision-making & compliance - need to understand the impact of the much discussed healthcare reforms.

NUCON 2012 provided four general education sessions, namely:

  • Focused Session on Meaningful Stage 2 and the Road Ahead for iPatientCare Users
  • A panel discussion on implementing iPatientCare EHR within Primary Care and Secondary Care: Challenges and Solutions
  • Pediatric Interest Group’s presentation/group discussion
  • Sessions on Innovations in iPatientCare Usage and Health IT Checkup

Interactive Breakout Sessions

NUCON 2012 additionally hosted numerous breakout sessions on iPatientCare EHR templates, order sets, decision support, administration and setup, iPatientCare Practice Management case studies, solutions for Rural Health Centers (RHC) and Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC), and integrated third-party solutions.

The conference allowed end users and channel partners of iPatientCare to learn even more about the company and its solutions while enjoying a variety of networking opportunities.

“There is so much to learn within iPatientCare world, and we appreciate so many simultaneous sessions from the company during NUCON. You deserve many thanks”, commented an attendee, which summarized the opinion of many others.

Though this year NUCON was a Virtual Conference, the entertainment committee worked hard towards planning a fun event as we want our users and channel partners to kick-off the holiday season over Wine, Cheese, and Chocolates as we would be only couple of weeks away from the Thanksgiving. All the attendees were presented with a special gift pack keeping in mind the chills and thrills of the forthcoming festivals. Hence all the attendees were able to enjoy and welcome the festive season along with the entire office staff.

Not only this, iPatientCare NUCON 2014 attendees also enjoyed participating in iPatientCare Jeopardy and Lucky Draw conducted by the Entertainment Committee at iPatientCare.

And the Good News is iPatientCare’s Virtual Portal will be accessible to all the users throughout the year for sharing ideas, learning and collaborating with industry veterans and get in touch with the exhibitors available at the booths.

One-On-One Sessions

This year NUCON attendees were offered FREE one-on-one meetings with the iPatientCare’s Chief Technology Officer and Senior Technology Officers, supported by engineering and application specialist teams. Such parallel one-on-one meetings provided a unique opportunity to the attendees to discuss their needs for software enhancements, training and integrations. Due to the limited availability of seats, the sessions were allotted based on the iPatientCare NUCON loyalty rating system. One of the long time user of iPatientCare EHR and PMS, Dr. McLeod was heard saying, “I’m very glad that I had a one-on-one meeting with Shripal Shah, STO. He was very thorough in understanding the issues and we could find a solution to many of the issues during this session.”

Like every year, there was an Exhibition of cutting edge technologies that get either embedded or integrated with iPatientCare to make iPatientCare a unique technology platform instead of an ordinary software product! Numerous iPatientCare partners who exhibited here represented Clearing Houses, Computers & Networking Service Providers, Medical Devices Manufacturers, Decision Support Content Providers.

One of the centers of attraction of the conference was the Gala Welcome Dinner and Cocktails Reception at the Signature Room, located on the 95h Floor of John Hancock Tower on Day-1, that is, Friday, November 2, 2012! These leisurely settings provided excellent opportunities for people to relax and network with each other, and of course, dancing to the tune of Bollywood lyrics and rhythm, a fusion music created specially for the iPatientCare NUCON 2012 Event.

Attendees also enjoyed participating in the iPatientCare Quiz conducted by Kedar Mehta, Anuja Parikh, and Pallavi Bhojak, positioning teams of audience members against each other in friendly competition.
